coffee know that there is all kinds of health benefits if consumed in moderation, but did you know it also makes a great addition to your skin care routine? It is full of antioxidants, and it makes a great exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. And when combined with coconut oil, it makes your skin feel silky smooth. So read on to find out how to make it fun coffee body scrub bars.
Here’s what you need for your body coffee scrub bars:
- A muffin tin
- 1 cup coffee grounds (this can be used, but make sure it’s dry)
- 1 cup of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
- spoon
Step by step instructions for coffee body scrub:
Step 1: add the vanilla
Start by pouring vanilla extract over the coffee grounds. Stir the mix until the vanilla is evenly distributed.
Step 2: microwave
Next, heat the coconut oil in the microwave until it becomes a clear liquid. It takes about 50 seconds, but you need to check yours every 20 seconds or so because you don’t want them to burn. Remove it from the microwave with oven mitts and pour the coffee grounds in the oil. Stir until they are completely mixed.
Step 3: add a mold
Pour the mixture into the muffin tin, dividing it evenly between the cups. Mine is about 3/4 full.
Step 4: freeze
It should look like this. The coffee grounds sink to the bottom… and that’s okay! Place the can in the freezer for about 2 hours. The mixture hardens into solid bars.
Conclusion
And voilà, they turned out amazing with these fun black and white bars! If you’re having trouble getting them out of the muffin tin, just fill a baking pan with hot water and submerge the bottom of the tin in the water for a minute or two. The hot water melts the outside of the bars enough to make them flow quickly.
Simply wet your skin and rub the bar back and forth and then rinse to get the softest, smoothest skin you’ve ever had!
These bars also make great gifts… who doesn’t love something super luxurious?! Make sure to keep it in the fridge so it doesn’t melt in the warmer weather. Now take care of yourself!
