15 Healthy Things to Do EVERY Morning

If your morning starts well then your day has a better chance of ending well. And if you have a good routine to keep yourself on the right foot, you’ll be happier and more balanced all week – every week. Read below to find out what 15 healthy things you should be doing EVERY morning. With these new habits and integrations, your life will be better, from top to bottom!

1. Wake up before 10 AM

Wake up before 10am

Don’t waste your day in bed. And don’t wake up at the last minute to get out the door. Instead, give yourself some time to get ready in the morning to start your day off on the right foot. You’ll slow down your day this way and enjoy more moments instead of always feeling like you’re in a rush.

2. Make The Bed

Get out of bed and fix it. You’ll feel like you’ve accomplished something for the day and get a pep in your step as you do it. The first “check” for the day can happen within the first five minutes.

3. Drink a glass of Water

Drink water in the morning

Do it before you eat breakfast! Drinking a glass of water helps your body wake up in a healthy way. You’ll feel rehydrated and you won’t stuff yourself at breakfast either.

4. Eat Breakfast

After downing the glass of water, make yourself a healthy breakfast. We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! This is the fuel to start everything right, so make sure it has the essentials. Avocado toast or some oatmeal and fruit would be perfect!

5. Get Off The Phone

Avoid the phone in the morning

Instead of waking up and hitting social media, avoid it for a while. Keep the mood upbeat and don’t let someone else’s timeline get in your way before your day starts. You are in the driver’s seat of your morning mood.

6. Step Outside And Get Some Air/Sun

Go to the balcony or porch to get fresh air and sunlight. Even if it’s pouring, it’s a great way to wake up. You can also choose your clothes better by feeling the temperature outside.

7. Use Positive Affirmation

Looking in the mirror

Give yourself a pep talk. Positive affirmations are a healthy way to not only live your daily life but to wake up in the morning. Make sure you give yourself time to look in the mirror and reaffirm yourself from top to bottom.

8. Do some type of exercise

Move your body! Whether it’s a little yoga or a quick run outside, it’s important for your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll also feel better throughout the day for giving yourself this surge of energy.

9. Get a Cup of Joe

Get a cup of coffee

A cup of coffee a day is actually very good for you – especially the antioxidants it offers. So, make yourself a cup. It also helps wake you up after you shower for the day.

10. Stretching

Stretching is a good thing to do when you first wake up, but also before you go to bed. Just wake up those sluggish muscles and warm them up for your pilates session or your walk around the block.

11. Turn on some Music

Turn on some music

Another way to put more pep in your step and boost your mood for the day – turn on some music! Start it while you’re in the shower and listen throughout your makeup prep and beyond. A little shimmy or two won’t hurt you either.

12. Add To A Gratitude Journal

It’s a good habit to start too. Every morning add to your gratitude journal. Basically, just write down one thing – big or small – that you’re grateful for every day and reflect.

13. Let The Light In

The window of the house is open

Open a window and draw your curtains. Make sure you let in natural sunlight. Not only will you find getting ready in the morning better, but it’s a happier way to start the day.

14. Add the Lemon

Put some lemon in your water. It tastes great but that lemon is a great way to hydrate, of course, but also helps with any breakouts or excess water weight. It really helps to “flush” your stomach.

15. Wash Your Face

Wash your face

And finally, wake up by washing your face. In the morning and at night, a good face routine is essential. Even if you don’t want to wash your hair in the morning, give your face a good cleaning. Your skin will thank us later.
